Passport to the World
•Youth ages 5-12
•7 classrooms set up to represent a specific continent/country
•Simulated world travel through rotation to each room
•Explored geography, people, government, food, music, & traditions of each continent
•In-room activities included artwork, games, research projects
•Encouraged appreciation for similarities and differences between cultures
•Included souvenir photos for each participant

The Apprentice
• Youth ages 12 to 17
• Created mock businesses in teams
• Developed finance, marketing,  legal, regulatory aspects
• Consulted with business experts
• Created Power Point & business handouts for business
• Earned prizes for best team presentation

Peer Judgement
•Allowed teens to experience the judicial system while learning about the consequences of some juvenile crimes
•Learned how to assume responsibility and be accountable for their actions
•Gain a healthy attitude towards authority
•Mock cases were tried by participants
•All participants had the opportunity to serve as an attorney

Team Michigan Basketball
•Created a positive environment where players improved through structured practice sessions
•Stressed fundamentals, offensively and defensively
•Helped players grow individually as well as a team
•Cultured the will to compete in every player
•Participated in group study sessions
•Attended Detroit Pistons and U of M Basketball games

Literacy ‘R.I.C.H’ Homes

•The promotion of family- literacy, skill-building for young children while enhancing literacy skill development in all members of the home.

•Four Components of ‘Literacy RICH Homes’:
1. Adult Education: Parent literacy training that leads to GED, career education, and economic self-sufficiency
2. Early Childhood Education: An age-appropriate education to prepare children for success in school and life experiences
3. Parenting Support: Training and support for parents regarding how to be the primary teacher for their children and how to be full partners in the education of their home
4. Parent and Child Together: Interactive literacy activities between parents and their children
